Signs and symptoms
- Degeneration of anterior horn cells
- Gait disturbance
- Muscle spasm
- Areflexia
- Fasciculations
- Gliosis
- Decreased number of peripheral myelinated nerve fibers
- Mildly elevated creatine kinase
- Axonal degeneration
- Peripheral neuropathy
