coloboma

An eye disease characterized by missing pieces of tissue in structures that form the eye, such as the iris, retina, choroid or optic disc.

Signs and symptoms

• Nystagmus
• Retinal coloboma
• Reduced visual acuity
• Optic disc coloboma
• Cataract
• Iris coloboma
• Esotropia
• Vesicoureteral reflux
• Remnants of the hyaloid vascular system
• Corneal opacity
