metaphyseal dysplasia

An osteochondrodysplasia that is characterized by abnormally broad ends of the arm and leg long bones resembling a boat oar or paddle due to enlargement of the spongy inner layer of bone.

Signs and symptoms

• Severe short stature
• Metaphyseal chondrodysplasia
• Mucopolysacchariduria
