Moyamoya disease

A cerebral arterial disease characterized by constriction of certain arteries at the base of the brain. Blood flow is blocked by the constriction and also by blood clots.

Signs and symptoms

  • Short stature
  • Postnatal growth retardation
  • Decreased testicular size
  • Elevated circulating luteinizing hormone level
  • Azoospermia
  • Moyamoya phenomenon
  • Achalasia
  • Hypertension
  • Elevated circulating follicle stimulating hormone level
  • Stroke-like episode
