synpolydactyly

A syndactyly characterized by an increased number of digits; often a result of a mutation in the HOXD13 gene.

Signs and symptoms

• Short middle phalanx of the 5th finger
• 2nd-5th toe middle phalangeal hypoplasia
• Contracture of the proximal interphalangeal joint of the 5th finger
• Broad hallux
• Y-shaped metacarpals
• Finger syndactyly
• Clinodactyly of the 5th finger
• Mesoaxial hand polydactyly
• Postaxial foot polydactyly
• 6 metacarpals
